Planks, new workouts & an awesome new playlist!

Planks are getting easier and easier for me! I change it up to make it harder.  I add leg raises or use dumbbells for alternate rows.  Side planks are pretty tough, but try doing it for 10 seconds for each side.  You can also dip your hip 15x on each side.  I like to challenge myself.  :)

Rest days

Sundays are usually my rest days, but I need to run today!!! It's too nice out to not run. Rise and grind people!!

Don't forget to stretch your muscles, apply sunscreen and wear a hat.

Hair cut

Dun dun dun....

I didn't cut my hair in a year bc of a traumatizing incident. When I say "trim" I don't mean chop off my hair! I'm getting a hair cut tomorrow. I hope it goes well. I will take a picture of the aftermath. Wish me luck!

Answering some questions!

So, I received a compliment on Yelp about my blog and she asked me a couple of questions.  I'm pretty excited to answer these questions. :) If you have any more, please ask!! I love to help others!

What supplements do you take?
-  I take omega 3, calcium + vitamin D, CLA and a multivitamin.
When purchasing vitamins, you should go to Mother's Market for your needs.
My mom bought me this weight loss supplement from Costco, take 2 T bid (twice a day).
I think it actually works; it suppressed my appetite.
For my energy drink, I swear by NSANE!
Get the green apple flavor!

What are burpees?

  • Begin in a squat position with hands on the floor in front of you.
  • Kick your feet back to a pushup position.
  • Immediately return your feet to the squat position.
  • Leap up as high as possible from the squat position.
  • When performing burpees, the key is to perform them in quick movements

    Also, if you're not sure what exercise is what, then install an app called Fitness Buddy. There are workouts that cater to what you want to improve.  I enjoy the Butt and Thigh toning program.  

    If you need to lose weight, the best way is to run.  In the beginning, it's really hard and you'll hate it, because trust me, I hated it so much! Start slow, walk, and brisk walk for 30 minutes.  Then maybe, 2 weeks later, switch it up to brisk walk to a jog for 30 minutes.  Finally, walk, jog and run for how ever long your body yearns for the burn!  Running tones your whole body! 

    As for dieting, try to stay away from carbs! Even when I get a sub from subway, I'll just eat it open faced.  My subway order: Veggie delight on 9 grain, no cheese, all of the veggies except for lettuce and substituted with spinach, avocado, and black pepper.   I don't even add mustard anymore because some of the veggies are salty and it doesn't need a condiment.

    Flame Broiler is also another good option!  Chicken & veggie. White meat, brown rice and extra veggies.  No special sauce but hot sauce will do!

    Chicken and broccoli should be a staple in your diet if you want to lose weight.  That is what I'm going to eat for most of my meals from now on!

    As for alcohol, on the rocks is the best choice!  Champagne, white and red wines are good choices too.  But don't over do it like me. haha.

    Weekend runs

    My little brother joined his high school's tennis team, he lost a lot of weight and matured within one season! I'm so proud of him.

    He is my running partner on the weekends, we usually run 7 miles! I found a new route and it's pretty hard! Very steep hills and excruciating!

    My legs are so dead right now, but I'm happy that I got my cardio out of the way! Now I can go about my day!

    Going to try to eat healthier on the weekends though. :)

    The Bee's Knees Peanut Butter

    The first thought that came to mind when I tasted this magnificent PB was "HOLY SH*T, THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

    I've never tried PB that was so creamy, sweet, with a little bit of a grainy texture, and just so darn addicting. 

    I don't really make PJ sandwiches, I just incorporate it into smoothies, eat it by itself, or eat it with apples!!

    Here's some smoothie recipes for you guys!
    10 oz of skim milk or soy milk
    1 T of PB
    1 medium banana
    6 cubes of ice

    3/4 c of cooked instant oatmeal
    1/4 c of skim milk
    1 T of PB
    2 t whey protein powder
    1 t honey
    1 t ground flaxseed
    6 ice cubes

    Shape Magazine

    Omg!!!! I'm so excited because Shape Magazine sent out a tweet about a week ago, telling us to send a swimsuit pic to be featured in next month's issue. I tweeted a pic and didn't really think I would get a response, bc really, I never get RTs. Lol. I actually got a RT and I was pretty happy. :) about an hour ago, the assistant editor tweeted me and asked if she could feature my photo! OF COURSE I said YES!

    Shape magazine is my favorite mag because there's fitness & fashion in one! Plus, their recipes are fantastic.

    So I'm really excited and anxious to get next months mag in the mail. AHHH!! Yay! :)
